Wife saves husband from house fire
October 24, 2011 No commentsA woman arrived home in time to save her husband from a house fire Saturday afternoon in Indianapolis.
According to an IFD release, homeowner Wendy Torres arrived to her home in the 2000 block of Riviera Street to find heavy black smoke coming from the roof.
Her husband was asleep inside on the couch, so she quickly ran inside to wake him, according to reports.
Both Torres and her husband escaped unharmed and firefighters quickly tried to put out the fire, however, they had to exit the home due to possible collapse.
Once the fire was out and the house was safe, firefighters re-entered the home and tried to salvage what remained.
Torres and her family will stay with relatives until further living arrangements can be made, according to reports.
The fire is under investigation and estimated damages to the home are $70,000.
