• Watermellons all over I-70 caused by drunk truck driver

    November 11, 2011 No comments

Watermelons spilled across Interstate 70 in Indianapolis early Friday morning when a semitrailer driver tipped the vehicle.

It all began overnight when police say the driver of the truck was driving the truck too fast, causing it to tip.

The crash is where eastbound I-70 splits away from Interstate 65. Police officials say they believe the female driver was drunk.

The driver broke her leg and was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital for treatment.

All lanes were closed for hours as a result of the wreck. Some traffic was allowed through the area beginning at around 6:20 a.m.
