The Indianapolis Indian’s once again jumped out to an early lead and Tribe starting pitcher Brad Lincoln went seven strong innings as the Indians defeated the Buffalo Bisons 6-1 yesterday afternoon at Victory Field.

For the fifth consecutive game Indianapolis put a mark on the scoreboard in the first inning as the Tribe used a run scoring double from Alex Presley, an RBI ground out from Matt Hague and an RBI single from Jason Jaramillo to plate three runs and take an early 3-0 lead against Bisons starter Casey Fossum.

Indianapolis scored two more times in the fifth on a two run homer to left field by Chase d’Arnaud his third of the year.

The Tribe made it a 6-0 game in the sixth inning when Josh Harrison’s double down the right field line scored Hague all the way around from first base.

The Bisons scored their lone run in the top of the ninth inning on a Michael Fisher RBI single up the middle that plated Kirk Nieuwenhuis but Indians reliever Tim Wood struck out pinch hitter Mike Nickeas to end the Bisons evening.

Lincoln recorded the victory going seven scoreless innings surrendering only four hits while striking out seven to improve to 4-3 on the year. Fossum with the loss dropped to 0-4 on the season as he gave up all six of Indianapolis’ runs on eight hits in five innings of work.

Indianapolis continues their four-game series with Buffalo with another day game at 11:05 AM as RHP Sean Gallagher is scheduled to get the start for the Indians, while RHP Brian Sweeney is expected to take to the mound for the Bisons.
