• Tourism scholarship available for local high school students

    As part of its ongoing mission to promote the tourism and hospitality industry, the Hendricks County Convention and Visitors Bureau will again offer a $1,000 scholarship to area high school students.

    Applications are now available for the Hendricks County Tourism and Hospitality Scholarship through the Hendricks County Community Foundation.

    The non-renewable scholarship is designated for a graduating senior from any Hendricks County high school who is a resident of the county and who will be attending an accredited Indiana college or university and pursuing a two-year or four-year degree in a tourism or hospitality field. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, Feb. 28.

    Tourism and/or hospitality programs include: Hotel/Lodging Management; Restaurant, Food or Beverage Management; Culinary Training; Event Management; Travel Planning; Motorsports; Cultural Development; Sports Tourism; and Food Production Training.
