Thousands of people were without power on Indianapolis’ west side this morning.

Indianapolis Power and Light reported 17,000 customers without power just after 8:30 a.m. in an area between 71st Street south to 34th Street and County Line Road east to Guion Road.

Several traffic lights were reported out in the area.

An IPL spokeswoman said the issue was at a substation on the northwest side.

The outage number had dropped to 10,000 by 9 a.m. By 11:00 AM, IPL reported that all power had been restored.
