An early-morning police chase ended with a crash on Indianapolis’ northwest side Friday morning.

Indianapolis police responded to a domestic disturbance call in the area of 52nd Street and Lafayette Road about 3:30 a.m.

An officer spotted a vehicle that may have been involved in the disturbance and began chasing it.

At one point, the officer backed off because the road was winding and dangerous.

That stretch of road is where the officer found the vehicle he had been chasing had crashed and flipped.

The driver was able to crawl out of the car. The man, whose identity wasn’t immediately released, was taken into custody.

Police said he was taken to a hospital, where he is in good condition after suffering a head injury.

Investigators said there was a warrant out for the man in connection with a robbery and that he wasn’t licensed to drive.
