• State freezes assets of Brownsburg firm named in Ponzi scheme

    February 29, 2012 1 comments

A Brownsburg and an Indianapolis based company had their assets frozen for what state officials are calling a textbook example of a Ponzi scheme.

The Indiana Secretary of State’s Securities Division sought to have the assets frozen as the result of several consumer complaints.

A civil complaint names Rudolf Pameijer and his daughter, Lindsay Pameijer, of Plan America LLC and Ryan Koester of Rykoworks Capital Group LLC, as operating the scheme by soliciting funds from investors under the guise they would be used for trading foreign currencies.

The Securities Division claims instead of investing the money, the defendants used the money to pay for home remodeling, cars and wedding expenses.

They are then accused of using money from new investors, not actual profits, to pay back older clients.

Both Indianapolis based Plan America LLC and Brownsburg Rykoworks Capital Group LLC sold promissory notes from 2008 to 2011.

The Indiana Securities Division asks any potential victims of Plan America or Rykoworks Capital Group to contact Investigator Kimberly Haskett with the Indiana Securities Division at (317) 234-3188.
