• SR 267 project is underway

The underground utility improvement work along State Road 267 has started. Old drinking water pipes and sanitary sewers will be repaired or replaced. The contractor will start laying water main on tomorrow from 56th Street to the south.

Weather permitting, they will install approximately 200 feet per day. One-lane traffic and road closures are expected. Access to all properties will be maintained at all times.

The local traffic detour is Northfield Drive east from Green Street to Airport Road west. Brownsburg town officials encourage residents to find alternate routes around the project, and to utilize side streets when visiting businesses along Green Street.

The state will detour non-local traffic and trucks to State Road 39. This will deter large trucks and wide loads from using Town streets during the construction.

Affected property owners will be notified in advance of potential impacts to their water and sanitary sewer service. The utility project will be completed within the road right-of-way and will not require access to properties. The utility work is expected to be complete by September 30, after which INDOT will be resurfacing SR 267 from 56th Street to Thornleigh Drive.
