South Putnam 54, Danville 35 – Girls High School Basketball
November 30, 2011 No commentsSouth Putnam used strong second and fourth quarters as the visiting Lady Eagles defeated Danville 54-35. The game was tied at eight after the first quarter but South Putnam (5-1) outscored the Lady Warriors 18-9 in the second period to lead at the half by the score of 26-17.
Danville (1-5) used a strong third quarter to trail the Eagles by only 5 points at the end of the third quarter by the score of 37-32. But the Eagles would pull away in the fourth period outscoring Danville 17-3.
South Putnam’s Leanna Masters led all scorers with 14 points. The Eagles Emily Dabkowski scored 12 points and teammate Jenny Thompson had 11 points with 9 of her points coming from beyond the arc.
Danville’s Morgan Bear and Katie Hall had 9 points each while Allie Lake and Whitney Taylor each chipped in with 6 points.
Next up for the Lady Warriors is a trip to Brownsburg to take on the #3 ranked Bulldogs on Saturday.
