Sheltering Wings will host a Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, July 11 from 6:30-7:30pm at Eaton Hall in Brownsburg Indiana. In light of the recent death of Emily Giles, a Lizton Indiana resident, the issue of domestic violence is once again raising questions in the community, and these questions will be addressed during this time.
Sheltering Wings’ CEO Maria Larrison and representatives from the Hendricks County Coalition Against Domestic Violence, will be leading the meeting.
Sheltering Wings provides emergency housing for women and their dependent children suffering from any form of domestic abuse. The shelter is located in Hendricks County and serves families from Central Indiana as well as other states. The HCCAD (Hendricks County Coalition Against Domestic Violence) is dedicated to ending domestic violence through community collaboration with law enforcement agencies, the criminal justice system, and medical and social service agencies, as well as working to improve systems that respond to domestic violence by providing advocacy, community outreach, education, and policy development.
