Today, Secretary of State Connie Lawson was honored to received almost 50 suits from Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann for the Send One Suit drive for Dress for Success.  Lieutenant Governor Ellspermann and her staff donated 50 suits, raising the total number collected to 200.

“I am grateful to Lieutenant Governor Ellspermann and her staff for participating in this worthy cause,” said Secretary Lawson.  “Their donations not only increase the number of suits collected, but will also increase the opportunity for low-income women to gain the employment they desire.”

“I am thankful to all state personnel who donated to the Dress for Success drive organized by Secretary Lawson’s office,” said Lt. Governor Ellspermann. “Because of the generosity of others, women in Indiana will have access to professional attire as they seek to better their workforce opportunities.”

All contributions will go to Dress for Success Indianapolis, an organization dedicated to promoting economic independence for women by providing professional attire, a network of support and career development tools. Donated suits go to central Indiana women who need professional attire for job interviews or new careers, empowering women in our community to be self-sufficient and successful in work and life. About 40 percent of Dress for Success Indianapolis’s annual suit needs are met through Send One Suit Week. All donations will be dropped off at Classic Cleaners in Castleton.
