• Santorum back on primary ballot

    February 24, 2012 No comments

Republican presidential contender Rick Santorum’s Indiana ballot scare could soon be over.

The Marion County Board of Voter Registration initially said Santorum fell eight signatures short of the 500 needed in Indiana’s 7th District when he filed for Indiana’s May primary. But board member Cindy Mowery said she re-certified Santorum for the ballot with 500 signatures Thursday morning.

The Indiana Election Commission will spend today hearing challenges to close to a dozen candidates including Santorum.

The challenges range from one man who claims President Barack Obama’s social security number is incorrect to voters who claim Statehouse candidates running as Republicans are actually Democrats.

The four-member panel will also hear challenges to Republican gubernatorial candidate Jim Wallace and allegations that U.S. Sen. Richard Lugar is unqualified to run for re-election.
