Putnam County—Criminal Investigation Detectives from the Indiana State Police Post at Putnamville have arrested a Putnam County man for alleged sexual misconduct with his 15-year old daughter.

Larry Owens, age 44, Reelsville, IN. was arrested last night at 11:00 p.m. at his place of employment in Greencastle, IN. Owens was booked into the Putnam County Jail on one preliminary count of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, Class B felony. His bond was set at $30,000 and his initial court appearance is 2:00 p.m. today at the Putnam County Courthouse.

State police investigators at the Putnamville Post were originally contacted by the Putnam County Department of Child Services about a complaint the agency had received alleging Larry Owens of inappropriate sexual contact with his daughter. An apparent friend of Larry Owens reportedly witnessed him engaging in sexual contact with his daughter on Sunday evening, November 14, 2010 at the Owens residence in Reelsville. The person then relayed that information to another family member of the victim, who then contacted the Putnam County Department of Child Services to file the complaint.

ISP Detectives, First Sergeant Jeff Hearon and Tony Guinn, investigated the allegations and made the subsequent arrest. They were assisted by the Putnam County Prosecutor’s Office and the Putnam County Department of Child Services.
