• Purdue Loses Starting QB For Season

    October 01, 2010 No comments

Purdue’s offense continues to suffer season-ending knee injuries as the Boilermakers announced starting quarterback Robert Marve would miss the remainder of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The injury occurred in the first quarter of last week’s loss to Toledo.

The diagnosis was confirmed Thursday by Purdue’s team orthopedist.

The Boilermakers are off Saturday and open Big Ten play Oct. 9 at Northwestern. Redshirt freshman Rob Henry is now Purdue’s No. 1 quarterback.

It’s the second time since the spring of 2009 that Marve has torn the ACL in his left knee.

While Henry moves to the No. 1 spot, freshman Sean Robinson becomes the backup. Henry has played in each game, throwing for 233 yards and rushing for 167. Henry, who has completed 51.2 percent of his passes, has taken 36 percent of the snaps.
