Is your house overrun with boxes, Christmas lights, packing peanuts, newly outdated electronics and, oh yeah, the naked and quickly drying Christmas tree? Well, here are some tips to help you get those items recycled so you can get on with 2014!

    CARDBOARD

Accepted in curbside recycling programs and at any of the [4] District’s Recycling Drop-off Centers. Make sure to flatten all boxes.

    CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

Lowe’s (in Avon & Brownsburg) are accepting Christmas light for recycling through the end of January. Just look inside the front entrance by the Service Desk for the recycling receptacle.

    PACKING PEANUTS

The UPS Stores in Brownsburg & Plainfield will accept packing peanuts for reuse!

    ELECTRONICS

Thanks to a new-ish state law, there are many more electronics recycling options available. Here is a list of local on-going e-waste recycling services. Some fees and restrictions may apply, so contact the organizations directly for the details.

    • Bee Environmental
    • Best Buy
    • Disposal Alternatives
    • Electronics Recyclers Intn’l
    • Go Green Indy
    • Goodwill
    • NuGenesis
    • Office Depot
    • RadioShack

    CHRISTMAS TREES

Natural, undecorated Christmas Trees are accepted through January 13th at the [5] District’s Yard Waste Recycling Centers. The Towns of Avon, Brownsburg & Plainfield also have Christmas tree recycling programs available for their residents.
