Brownsburg School Police were notified Tuesday morning that an East Middle School student was approached by a woman described as white, heavyset, around 40 years old with spiky blonde hair. The student said the woman attempted to lure her into a gray or silver sport utility vehicle in the vicinity of York and Sycamore streets around 7 a.m.

Brownsburg School Police and Brownsburg Police are aggressively pursuing all leads and will patrol the area during both elementary and secondary student travel times. Bus drivers were also alerted to the situation.

Parents at East Middle School and Eagle Elementary have been notified through the district’s parent messaging system and asked to take this opportunity to discuss with their children the importance of walking in groups, being aware of their surroundings, and avoiding strangers.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Brownsburg Community School Corporation Police at 852-5726.
