• Plainfield woman rescued from sinking car

    June 15, 2011 No comments

A driver is being checked out for injuries after driving her car into a 15-foot-deep retention pond.

Police say the woman was exiting Mike’s Car Wash at 2676 East Main Street in Plainfield when she drove through a fence and into the pond.

Police don’t know if it was driver error or a mechanical failure that caused the car to drive through the fence at a high rate of speed.

A Mike’s Car Wash customer was able to pull the woman from the car while it was still floating in the pond, and pulled her to shore.

Medics arrived and took her to the hospital.
