• Plainfield to host Women’s Build of Habitat home

    April 26, 2011 No comments

Plainfield will host a women’s construction week on behalf of Habitat for Humanity of Hendricks County next week.

The annual Women’s Build event draws women from across the nation to help construct an affordable home with a family in need. This year’s event will occur at home already under construction at 3406 Campbell St.

Openings remain on all days of the build, May 2-7, except May 4. Both women’s groups and individuals are welcome to participate. Habitat strives for a group of 10 to 12 women each day.

The construction begins at 8 a.m., rain or shine and concludes at 5 p.m. Participants should wear comfortable shoes and dress in clothing appropriate for the weather conditions. Tools will be supplied, though women are allowed to bring their own. Participants also need to supply their own lunch and drinks. Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older.

For more information, contact Marcia Gentleman at habitat-vc@indy.rr.com or (317) 272-1405.
