• Plainfield shooting leads to one arrest

    One person is under arrest after a shooting in an apartment in Plainfield last night. Plainfield police responded to a report of shots fired at the Saratoga Crossing Apartments at 7:50 last night. When officers arrived they found that the apartment was vacant and unsecured. Detectives at the scene said it was apparent that an incident had taken place leading officers to set up a perimeter.

    Plainfield Police Department, public information officer, Capt. Jill Lees stated that ”witnesses at the scene advised officers that prior to their arrival that several people got into a dark car and left the area.”

    Police did locate the car and detained the occupants for questioning. 19-year-old Josiah Lawson was arrested in connection with the shooting and booked into the Hendricks County jail.

    The victim arrived at Hendricks Regional Health emergency room with a gunshot wound. Hospital officials notified police, and then transported the victim via lifeline to IU health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. The victim is currently listed in stable condition.

    Lees said the incident is still under investigation.
