Members of the Plainfield Police Department teamed up with an undercover Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officer to make prostitution arrests at Rose’s Spa in Plainfield.

In a story in today’s Hendricks County Flyer, they reported that the investigation was opened back on Oct. 3, 2011. The business is a massage therapy spa that had had complaints in the past and the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department received another complaint on Sept. 27.

There had been an arrest for prostitution made at Rose’s Spa, 3142 E. Main St., on March 26, 2009, but the business remained open.

The owner of the property is Waleed Beg of Plainfield, who leases the property and building to Rose’s Spa. He had been advised of the illegal activity in 2009 when the first arrest was made, according to the police report.

An undercover IMPD officer with $200 in pre-recorded bills entered Rose’s Spa at 11:10 a.m. Jan. 10. According to reports, he was quickly propositioned and requested back up assistance.

Yu Xi Kim of Plainfield, and Jilan Ervin of Sheridan, were initially detained and interviewed by police at the scene.

According to the police report, during the interview Kim said she was going to give the man a massage and he offered her more money after she asked if he tipped.

The undercover officer said he paid $50 for a massage. Once in the room with Kim, he said he asked her to remove her clothes and she told him that would cost him an extra $100. The officer said he then asked her for sexual intercourse and again she said it would cost extra.

He said she asked him for $150, he handed her the money, and she put it in the pocket of a robe she was wearing.

Once she was informed that her “customer” was an undercover police officer, he said she tried to tell him “I was kidding. I was joking.”

Kim was arrested, charged with prostitution, and transported to the Hendricks County Jail in Danville.

Ervin was also arrested and charged with prostitution. A bench warrant was also issued for Beg, who was charged with promoting prostitution.
