• Piggy Bank Battle Pits a Morgan County Prosecutor Against 10-Year-Old

    February 06, 2012 No comments

A central Indiana prosecutor doesn’t want to give a 10-year-old girl her piggy bank back.

The Reporter-Times of Martinsville reported that Morgan County Prosecutor Steve Sonnega has filed a motion asking a Superior Court judge in the central Indiana county to reverse his order to give the piggy bank back to the daughter of Russell Hill.

On Jan. 18, members of the Indiana State Police and Indiana Gaming Commission raided Hill’s home in rural Morgan County.

The 63-year-old is charged with professional gambling and promoting professional gambling, both felonies.

Sonnega said the bank is a large water bottle and that in addition to containing money, it might have evidence inside.

Hill’s attorney, John Boren, told the court the bank belongs to Hill’s 10-year-old daughter.
