Pacers Rookies Continue to Impress
July 09, 2010 No commentsRookie Paul George helped the Indiana Pacers rally from a 27 point deficit at halftime to beat the Boston Celtics 86-85 in NBA summer league action in Orlando yesterday.
George converted a three-point play with 4.7 seconds left to help the Pacers complete the huge comeback.
The former Fresno State standout was 4-of-16 from the field, including 0-of-5 on 3-pointers. He finished with 17 points.
George wasn’t the only Pacers rookie to play well as second-round pick Magnum Rolle had 19 points and 11 rebounds. Lance Stephenson, who had played well throughout the week was limited to playing only eight minutes because of a thigh bruise suffered in the first quarter.
Former Notre Dame standout Luke Harangody had 16 points and seven rebounds for the Celtics.The Pacers will wrap up summer league play today in Orlando as they will face the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Pacers have gone 3-1 in action this week.
