    November 06, 2012 No comments

Area children ages 6 to 12 will have the opportunity to become this year’s Junior Grand Marshal of the Christmas Under the Stars parade and festivities on Saturday, December 1.

Brownsburg Public Library and Brownsburg Parks will host ornament decorating workshops at the library on Saturday, November 10 from noon to 2 p.m. and Tuesday, November 13 from 6 to 8 p.m.

These free workshops will allow the children to create their ornament to display at the library for the community to vote on through November 25.  Each ornament will be available for voting within the Library’s normal business hours, Mondays through Thursdays 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays 1 to 5 p.m.  The Library will be closed on November 22 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Christmas Under the Stars parade, sponsored by Kroger, Gardis and Regas, LLP Attorneys, begins at 6 p.m. December 1 at Brown Elementary School and ends at Arbuckle Acres Park. A celebration at Town Hall will follow the parade, including the lighting of the Christmas Tree and Town Hall and pictures with Santa Claus.

Anyone interested in being a part of the Christmas Under the Stars parade can find more information, including how to register a parade unit or float, on www.brownsburgparks.com or by calling Brownsburg Parks at 858-4172.
