A man was killed early Friday morning in a shooting at a gas station on Indianapolis’ west side.

30 year old Tommy Thompson a passenger inside a pickup truck, was killed in the shooting at a Speedway station at 7270 W. 10th St., near Girls School Road.

Police were called to the gas station about 3:30 a.m. Investigators said the driver pulled in for fuel when shots rang out.

Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are looking for an older model Oldsmobile that sped from the scene eastbound on 10th Street.

Investigators said that on many nights, a lot of people congregate at the gas station after leaving Tremors, a nearby club.

Investigators believe the shooting may have stemmed from a fight at the club earlier in the morning.

Police are hoping people who were at the gas station will come forward to provide details about the crime scene and what may have transpired between the shooting and the victim earlier in the evening.
