• New rates now in effect for Danville’s Blanton House rentals

The Danville town council recently ratified new fees to rent the Blanton House.

Off-season rates (November through March) range from $25 to $50 hourly or flat rates of $50 up to $600 for weddings. During peak season (April through October) those increase to $25 to $200 and $100 to $2,300 respectively.

In a story by Wade Coggeshall in the Hendricks County Flyer, he reports that the new rates are effective immediately. The Danville Park Board recommended raising them to cover the costs of operation and maintenance of the Blanton House.

The board recently bought a giant tent that can be used for special functions year-round at the venue. Park board president Ron Bockstahler told the council that in the past, people renting the Blanton House had to rent their own tents.

Bockstahler added that the committee that put together the new rates compared them to those at similar venues nearby and expressed that even with the new rates, the fees are below the rates charged by other venues in the area.
