• New principal named for Avon High School

    The Avon Community School Corporation Board has appointed Matthew Shockley as principal of Avon High School. The Corporation announced the appointment during a regular board meeting on March 11.

    Shockley comes to Avon High School after serving as principal at Center Grove High School during the last nine years. He also served as assistant principal at the high school for three years. In addition, Shockley was the assistant principal, Social Studies teacher and Emotionally Disabled teacher at Tipton High School.

    Shockley received a master’s degree and principal certification from Butler University and a bachelor’s degree from Hanover College. He will begin his new position on July 1, 2013.
