• Monday deadline for B&O Trail painting submissions

    June 16, 2011 No comments

The B&O Trail Association is soliciting tunnel art ideas through Monday.

Artists, students, church groups, and Boy and Girl Scouts can submit ideas for painting portions of the pedestrian tunnel underneath the Ronald Reagan Parkway between Avon and Brownsburg. This area was hit by graffiti recently.

The association will be getting the area cleaned and prepared for groups to come in and paint this summer. Areas of varying size and shape are available for painting but are limited. The tunnel art committee will be reviewing submissions and selecting the best ones.

Themes have been assigned to the two ends of the tunnel, so submissions for these feature areas must stick with the assigned themes. The east end of the tunnel will have a racing theme; the west end, a railroad theme.

Theme ideas can be submitted for two triangular areas at each end of the tunnel. Within the tunnel are many square and rectangular sections available. These areas are open to any idea a local artist or group would like to submit for consideration.

The entry form is available at http://www.botrail.org/. That form contains more details including dimensions about the areas available for painting.

The deadline for entries is Monday. Entries can be mailed or emailed to the addresses in the form.
