Marijuana Eradication Efforts Active in Indianapolis Area
September 03, 2010 No commentsIndiana State Troopers are currently combing the Indianapolis area and surrounding counties in the height of the 2010 marijuana eradication effort.
Today, at approximately 1:20 p.m., Indiana State Police troopers were flying eradication patrols in the Indianapolis area and located alleged marijuana plants in a fence line on the property at 1933 Kingbridge Street.
While the troopers in the helicopter observed the plants until ground units could arrive, a man emerged from the residence and attempted to pull the plants. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Southeast units arrived and secured the suspect until the arrival of a trooper.
Allen L. Brooks, 53, of Indianapolis was arrested at the scene and charged with cultivating marijuana. He was transported to the Marion County Arrestee Processing Center and incarcerated without incident.
Senior Trooper Danny Madison, of the Drug Enforcement Section, obtained a search warrant for the residence and located approximately three pounds of processed marijuana, ten plants and five guns. The processed marijuana has a street value of $5,000 dollars.
