Marc Gianfagna was named principal of Cardinal Elementary after approval by the Brownsburg Community School Corporation (BCSC) School Board at its July 15 meeting.  Mr. Gianfagna has served as the assistant principal of Brownsburg East Middle School (BEMS) since 2009 after beginning his career in 1999 as an English teacher in Brownsburg.

Marc Gianfagna said, “Cardinal has experienced great academic growth recently and I am excited to lead the exceptional staff and students to further our success and grow as a Cardinal family.”

”Marc has been an outstanding leader at BCSC,” said Superintendent Jim Snapp. “He will be a tremendous principal and will bring great energy to Cardinal Elementary.”  Mr. Gianfagna will assume the role of principal at Cardinal Elementary immediately.

In addition, the School Board approved two assistant principals for the BCSC middle schools.  Melissa Wong will transition from her role as English teacher for Brownsburg West Middle School (BWMS) to assistant principal.  Chris Renner was selected to fill the assistant principal position at Brownsburg East Middle School (BEMS).  Chris comes to BCSC from Lynhurst Middle School (MSD of Wayne Township) where he taught social studies.  Both assistant principals will start right away.

BEMS and BWMS are two of six BCSC schools that recently received a 4-star rating from the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE), an honor they have received for three straight years.  All BCSC schools have also received an “A” rating from the IDOE.
