• “Lost in a Book” corn maze comes to Hendricks County

    September 20, 2011 No comments

This year’s exciting and challenging new Corn Maze, “Get Lost in a Book”, is scheduled to open Friday, Sept. 23 at Beasley’s Orchard, 2304 E. Main St., Danville. “Get Lost in a Book” has been created to encourage reading throughout one’s lifetime. Now in its ninth season, this year’s maze is sure to delight everyone. The Beasley family and maze designer Brett Herbst, the world’s leading professional designer of corn mazes, hope to challenge the wits of those seeking to find the one exit from this intricate network of twists and turns carved into six acres of corn.

The maze is navigated through a series of questions on a passport. If a question is answered correctly, you will be led in the right direction. However, if you answer a question incorrectly, you will be led in the wrong or slightly longer direction. The maze can be navigated in less than 30 minutes, but it’s not uncommon for most parties to take about an hour to find their way through the four miles of trails.

The maze will remain open every weekend through Oct. 30. Hours of operation are Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. Tickets cost $8 for ages 12 and up, $6 for ages 6-11, and free for kids 5 and under. Maze adventures can be scheduled for groups of 15 or more at a discounted rate. The maze also can be combined with one of our field trip adventures to the orchard or pumpkin patch for large groups.
