An investigator with the Indiana State Police Vehicle Crimes Unit (VCU) completed an over month long vehicle theft investigation resulting in the arrest of 37 year old Donald P. Maggard, of North Vernon, IN. Maggard was arrested in Hancock County early yesterday morning after delivering a stolen 1999 Ford F350 pick-up truck to an undercover VCU state police officer.

Other vehicles recovered over the course of this investigation were a 2008 Ford F350 and a 1932 Ford Deuce Coupe hotrod, that by itself was valued at over $300,000. The hotrod, originally stolen on September 16th, was recovered, undamaged, on September 17th.

As a result of Maggard’s arrest in Hancock County he was charged with two “C” Felony counts of Auto Theft and was also arrested for being a Habitual Offender. It was also determined Maggard had an active warrant from Marion County for possession of methamphetamine.
