• ISP arrest pair after spotting woman standing through moon roof

    Indiana State Police said two people were arrested over the weekend after a trooper saw a woman standing through the moon roof of a car.

    The incident happened about 2 p.m. Sunday in Vermillion County.

    The trooper said he was northbound on State Road 63 near the Vermillion County Sheriff’s Office when he saw the woman standing in the vehicle, with part of her body out of the moon roof.

    The trooper tried to get the driver to pull over, but the driver fled to Newport before stopping on a driveway.

    Police said the driver was taken into custody without incident a few hours later at a Newport bar.

    34 year old Ernest Green of Newport was arrested on charges of resisting law enforcement, false informing, failure to identify, reckless driving and driving with a suspended license.

    29 year old Teresa Rogers of Newport, was arrested on charges of resisting law enforcement, false informing and public intoxication.

    Green and Rogers were being held Monday in the Vermillion County Jail.
