• Indy mayor speaks to congressional committee on drought

    The extreme summer weather that Indianapolis has experienced will be taking center stage in Washington, D.C. today.

    Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard will go before a House committee Wednesday to talk about the impact of the drought.

    Ballard will testify on how the current watering ban has affected businesses.

    The House Science, Space and Technology Committee is holding the hearing today to examine the country’s current drought information system, which helps the nation better prepare for the effects of the drought.
