The Big 10 announced yesterday that Indianapolis has been chosen as the site to host the first Big 10 league championship football game. The game will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium in December of 2011 with an exact date to be determined.

The Big 10 said the deal was contingent on final details being worked out in the next 30 days and only covers the 2011 game. Big 10 commissioner Jim Delany has said that formal bids would be sent out to cities which would like to host the game in the future.
