Indiana Sports Corporation president Susan Williams said yesterday that it’s “highly unlikely” the city will make a bid for the newly-announced national college football championship game, which is scheduled to make its debut in January 2015.

Williams, speaking at a news conference after city officials announced they would make a bid for the 2018 Super Bowl, said the Sports Corp’s plate is full for the next several years and the city plans to make a bid for a U.S. Olympic trials event in 2016. Indianapolis did not host a trials this year for the first time in an Olympic year since 1980. It has hosted track, swimming, diving and wrestling trials in the past.

Williams said the Sports Corp. hopes to announce the addition of another major event in the near future. Indianapolis is scheduled to host the Big Ten football title game through 2015, the NCAA men’s Final Four in 2015 and the women’s Final Four in 2016.
