• Indiana Shopping Centers Packed On Black Friday

    November 25, 2011 No comments

Mall parking lots were packed early this morning as shoppers poured into stores in search of elusive Black Friday deals.

The morning after Thanksgiving seemed as intense as ever in the Indianapolis area, despite the fact that many of the bargains in stores could be had online.

The Toys R Us store in Castleton was still full of customers about 5 a.m., nine hours after the store opened at 9 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.

While some said the trend of stores opening on Thanksgiving Day is troubling, those who were in line outside the stores were thrilled.

Traffic was a nightmare Friday morning outside the usual trouble sports near Castleton Square Mall, Greenwood Park Mall and other shopping venues.

Some shoppers had spent the entire night hitting various stores. Door-buster deals were already gone at most of the retailers. In many cases, tickets were handed out before store opening, and only the truly early birds got the best bargains.
