IHSAA Football Playoffs Kick-Off Tonight
October 22, 2010 No commentsThe 2010 IHSAA Football Playoffs begin tonight with opening round sectional action.
The Brownsburg Bulldogs begin their defense of their sectional 6 title as they travel to Terre Haute South to take on the 2-7 Braves. The Bulldogs are coming off back to back losses against Zionsville and Fishers to finish the season with a 6-3 record.
Avon will host a tough first round sectional 6 matchup as the 6-3 Orioles welcome an 8-1 Indianapolis Tech team that averages almost 39 points per game. The Orioles are coming off a season ending 14-13 loss to Zionsville last week.
The Plainfield Quakers enter playoff action with an impressive 7-2 record and a Mid-State conference co-championship as they will travel to Indianapolis Roncalli to take on a 3-6 Rebels team in Sectional 14 action. The Quakers enter play tonight with a 3 game winning streak.
Danville travels to Southmont to take on the 7-2 Mounties in sectional 21 action. The 5-4 Warriors handed the Mounties one of their two losses on the season defeating Southmont 31-16 back in early September.
Sectional 30 will see two Hendricks county teams involved as Tri-West visits Monrovia tonight and Cascade hosts South Vermillion. The Bruins enter play with a 4-5 record and a season ending loss to Danville while the Bulldogs ended their season with a record of 5-4. The Cadets enter sectional play with a record of 3-6 as they host a Wildcats team that was winless on the season.
All games tonight have a 7:00 p.m. scheduled kick-off.
