• Hobbs appointed to replace Sawyer as Brownsburg Town Councilor of Ward 2

This past Monday, Ashley Hobbs was sworn in as Brownsburg’s newest Town Councilor. She was appointed by precinct committee with a vote of 11 to 7 last Saturday morning. The swearing in ceremony took place in the office of Jeanette Brickler around noon.

All things considered, Hobbs said it’s a little too soon to be nervous for her first meeting. “I think it’s too soon. I’m not sure really what to expect. I’m jumping in the fire and learning as I go. Kind of like everything else I’ve done”.

When asked what made her decide to throw her hat into the ring as a town councilor, Hobbs said “I think moving back to Brownsburg and knowing I was going to live here my whole life. I do want to grow my family here, and that’s not going to happen for a long time, so I do want to be a vested resident in the town. And as a business owner, I have a vested interest in the town as well.”

Hobbs is the owner of “Crossfit 317” in Brownsburg. She says it’s been open for about a year.
