Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis is pleased to announce that Patty Hertenstein was recently named the 2011 Lucas Oil Sportsman Racer of the Year for the Summit Racing ET Series.

Patty, who resides in Greenwood, races her Ford Mustang in the Sportsman class during the course of the year and recently finished third in the season long points standing. Her husband, Brian, also races at the facility in the Pro class.

When she isn’t racing during the events she can be found helping other racers in the pits and always is quick to lend a hand even if it is a competitor in the other lane. She and her husband also serve as team captains during the North Central Division finals.

Wes Collier, general manager of Lucas Oil Raceway said, “Patty is a tremendous asset to all the racers at Lucas Oil Raceway during the course of the season. She does many things that most go unnoticed and because of that we wanted to make sure she knows her efforts were appreciated and that Lucas Oil Raceway is a better place because of it.”
