When you hear the song, I’ve Got You Under My Skin, or Night and Day, do you think of Cole Porter? Did you know that legendary musician Cole Porter is actually a native of Peru, Indiana, and that many of his beautiful songs were composed on Lake Maxinkuckee in his steamboat”?

The Hendricks Arts Council and Hendricks Symphonic Society would like to bring this legendary story to life by presenting “Cole Porter’s Radio Hour” during our 4th Annual Midsummer Night’s Gala Fundraiser. All proceeds from the event benefit the HCAC and HSS and help to promote the arts in Hendricks County. The Radio Hour will be performed by 16 voices of Encore Vocal Art and professional actor Rob Johansen will be portraying Cole Porter. The Radio Hour will take the audience through a musical journey of his life and music, from the time when Cole spent his summers on the lake with his childhood friend to his day of piano playing on the Maxinkuckee steamboat. This will be a thoroughly enjoyable evening you do not want to miss.

The show will be held on Thursday, August 30, beginning at 5:30pm, with wine & hors d’oeuvres at the Gallery on the Square and the Royal Theater in Danville. Tickets are $50 per person or $65 per person, which includes a dress rehearsal and a Q&A session on Monday August 27 at 7 p.m. You may purchase tickets through www.HendricksCountyArts.org, Gallery on the Square, Danville, or Donovan CPA, Avon.
