• Greet Spring at Hendricks County Master Gardeners Event

    March 14, 2014 No comments

Hendricks County Master Gardeners will hold their annual “Gardening for All Ages” show on April 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds & Conference Complex in Danville, Ind. Gardening for All Ages is true to its name with activities for everyone from small children to senior citizens, including gardening exhibits, speakers and advice, and, for the first 800 visitors, free trees.

Educational offerings at the free event include presentations by experts on food preservation, soil improvement, attracting pollinators, and other topics. The Garden Wizard will be on hand to answer questions and dispense advice. A Children’s Booth will offer games and demonstrations, along with the opportunity for children to plant a seed to take home in a pot they have decorated.

More than 40 garden-related exhibitors will be offering plants, garden décor, bird-watching supplies, lawn care supplies and more. Popular booths at last year’s show featured “fairy gardens,” bluebird houses, rain barrels and Indiana honey.

Those interested in becoming a Master Gardener can learn more about the program at the Hendricks County Master Gardeners booth.
Meal service is available all day, and the tradition of offering free seed packets continues this year. For more information, including the schedule of presentations, visit www.hendricksgardeners.com.
