The town of Plainfield will replace 4,500 traffic signs this summer after receiving a $342,000 grant.

The Indianapolis Regional Transportation Council grant will allow the town to replace stop, yield, speed limit, street name and other informational and traffic control signage. The town will contribute a 10 percent match or $38,000 to the $380,000 project.

The sign-replacement project is expected to start in late July or early August.
