A former Brownsburg High School valedictorian and current UCLA student has been booked into the Los Angeles County Jail on charges of assault.

According to a release from the UCLA Newsroom, 20 year old Paul Meyer was arrested without incident after police responded to the Theta Chi fraternity house on a report of an aggravated assault.

Police say Meyer, a UCLA student and fraternity member, allegedly choked a victim. Campus police say Meyer is facing assault charges with intent to commit rape and false imprisonment.

Los Angeles Police say the investigation is ongoing. Since the incident, Meyer has been released on $100,000 bail.

He has a court arraignment scheduled for April 4.
