Fever overcome Fowles’ big night for a road win
July 08, 2010 No commentsTamika Catchings scored 16 points as the Indiana Fever traveled to Chicago and defeated the Eastern Conference Player of the Week Sylvia Fowles when they had to in a 58-51 victory over the Sky last night at Allstate Arena.
Fowles had 26 points and 18 rebounds. But It wasn’t enough to hold back the Fever from topping the Sky for the second time in nine days and for the fourth straight time.
The Fever dominated the first half and took a 39-21 lead to halftime. The Sky rallied to tie it at 47 early in the fourth quarter, but the Fever squashed the rally with a 9-2 run to regain control.
Tully Bevilaqua added 13 points for the Fever, and Tammy Sutton-Brown had eight points and 10 rebounds.
