• Fever Beat Liberty In Overtime

    Indiana Fever’s Tamika Catchings catching scored a team high 22 points with nine of those points coming in overtime as the Fever defeated the New York Liberty 84-81 at Madison Square Garden last night.

    Catchings complemented her scoring by pitching in with 10 rebounds and seven assists. Katie Douglas had 21 points and Ebony Hoffman added 15 points to help the Fever beat the Liberty for the seventh consecutive time.

    The win moved Indiana into first place in the Eastern Conference, percentage points ahead of Atlanta, Washington and Connecticut.
    Cappie Pondexter had a franchise-record and career-high 40 points for New York . Leilani Mitchell scored 15 on 5-for-6 shooting on 3-pointers and Janel McCarville added 12 points.

    Catchings hit the tiebreaking 3-pointer that gave the Fever the lead for good at 78-75 with four minutes left in overtime. Douglas followed with a jumper 51 seconds later to extend the lead to five.

    The Fever’s next game will be Thursday at Conseco Fieldhouse as they host the Los Angeles Sparks. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
