Two state schools have learned that they’ll be hosting ESPN’s College GameDay this winter.

Butler, national runners-up in 2010 and 2011 before missing last year’s NCAA tournament, will host GameDay for the first time ever at historic Hinkle Fieldhouse on Saturday, Jan. 19 when the Bulldogs face perennial mid-major power Gonzaga.

Gonzaga is ranked No. 20 in ESPN’s pre-season poll. The game will be GameDay’s first stop for the 2012-13 season.

A few weeks later, the ESPN crew will return to the Hoosier state to broadcast from Bloomington as Indiana, ESPN’s pre-season No. 1, hosts No. 5 Michigan in a game that could go a long way in determining the Big Ten regular season title.

It will be the second time GameDay will visit Bloomington; ESPN’s crew of Jay Bilas, Rece Davis and Digger Phelps also came in February 2008 for an IU-Michigan State showdown.

ESPN also announced that Jalen Rose, a former Michigan star and part of the Fab Five, has replaced Hubert Davis as the fourth member of the GameDay crew.
