The Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library is now able to add e-books to its list of materials available to patrons.

Library Director Edra Waterman reported to the Plainfield Town Council earlier this week on their many e-book selections and other news.

Waterman said, “We now have content available for your Nooks and iPad. You can do everything by going to our website.”

The library staff is in the process of being trained on how to help patrons get started.

To help spread the word, she said the library staff is going to be tailgating at some Plainfield High School football games, along with Red Pride.

Waterman said that since Christmas the requests for e-book information have grown exponentially.

Waterman also said that the Plainfield-Guilford Township Library will be closed the week of Sept. 12-18 for a re-carpeting and re-arranging project. The library will re-open on Sept. 19 but the project will not quite be finished. The library will have a grand re-opening from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 24.”

In other news, the library board has decided to begin only lending to Plainfield and Guilford Township residents as of Jan 1, 2012. For several years there has been an inter-library agreement with other county libraries.
