One person is dead after a fiery crash Thursday on Interstate 465 at East 56th Street.

At about 7 p.m. Thursday, Indiana State Police said, 89-year-old Robert Alford Brown from Noblesville drove his 1995 Buick the wrong way in the southbound lanes of I-465, with no headlights on. He struck an SUV driven by Kimberly Lewis of Franklin, head-on in the collector ramp onto southbound I-465 at East 56th Street.

The car caught fire, and a semi driver from Canada stopped and pulled Brown out of the car, but Brown was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lewis was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
