Brownsburg residents can enjoy a dinner theater event next week commemorating the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War, while also showing their support for the Hendricks County Museum.

Hendricks County native Gary Vidito will present “Lest We Forget,” the story of the Civil War in story and song, at 6 p.m. April 14 at the Crown Room of The Strong Building, 900 E. 56th St., Brownsburg. The Civil War occurred from 1861-65.

Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m., and items for a silent auction can be viewed before and during dinner.

Auction items will include gift cards to local restaurants, three paintings by local artist Shirley Woodard, and fitness-related gifts. The most-prized auction offering will be a framed original page from a 1611 King James Bible which includes a passage of verse from Jeremiah 15, which comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Tickets cost $45 a person with all proceeds benefiting the museum. Corporate tables also are available.

To purchase tickets, mail a check, along with name and contact information to the Hendricks County Museum, P.O. Box 226, Danville, IN 46122.

Tickets also can be purchased at The Hearth at Prestwick, 182 S. County Road 550 East, Avon.
