Brownsburg and Danville met in the second semi-final matchup and unlike the first semi-final; this game remained in doubt until the very end. Both teams traded the lead back and forth throughout the contest. In the end, the game came down to free-throw shooting and the Warriors were superb from the line converting 24 of 28 free throw attempts while the Bulldogs went 10 for 22 from the line as Danville moved on to the Championship game beating Brownsburg 66-59.

A tight first quarter ended with the Warriors leading by a point at 16-15. Danville’s guard Avery Motes, who led all scorers with 20 points, 9 points in the first quarter including a perfect 4 for 4 from the charity stripe. Brownsburg’s Jaraan Lands came off the bench to pick up six of his team high 17 points to keep the Bulldogs close.

Danville (6-3) opened up an 8 point lead in the second quarter as sophomore guard Brock Stevens came off the bench to score 11 of Danville’s 14 second quarter points in the period but Brownsburg (1-8) managed to cut the deficit to one at halftime when Xavier Ringo scored on a layup right before the buzzer as the teams went in to the locker room with Danville leading 30-29.

The second half would be a battle of free-throws as Danville went to the line 24 times converting 20 of those attempts and went 13 of 15 in the deciding fourth quarter with Motes shooting 7 of 9 from the stripe to preserve the victory. Brownsburg had their chances to pull close but while the Warriors were making their free-thrown, the Bulldogs failed to capitalize on theirs going 5 of 12 in the second half.

Danville will meet Avon for the Boys Hendricks County Tournament Championship Saturday at 6:00 PM EST at Danville High School. Brownsburg will face Tri-West in the 3rd place game. Tip-off for that game will be at 2:00 PM EST on Saturday.
